John Campbell: Creative Director
As Creative Director for SMS, John is responsible for translating client objectives into creative strategies and coordinating the graphic development of print, interactive, and web-based projects. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The Savannah College of Art and Design. John brings with him over 15 years experience in the graphic design industry.
Sarah Clements: Director of Associations
In her role as association director, Sarah is responsible for overall staff supervision, workplan development, financial management, committee support, project management and member communications and outreach for assigned SMS clients.
Sarah was most recently employed with SMS affiliate, Symbiotix. There she managed 15 webinars and 12 annual meetings, which involved participation from physicians, advanced practitioners, clients and vendors. Her previous experience includes serving as a meeting planner for AMR Management Services where she was responsible for planning eight annual conferences for three national associations serving 10-500 attendees.
Stephanie Czuhajewski: Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Stephanie manages the marketing initiatives for SMS and its clients and is responsible for developing public relations strategies that help client organizations achieve their goals. She oversees client membership and sponsorship development efforts and works closely with the SMS design team to make sure that assigned deliverables are professionally crafted, on-time and under budget.
Stephanie has more than 10 years of marketing, fundraising and public relations experience, in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining SMS, she served as the communications and membership development director for AMR Management Services, where she was responsible for more than $1.5 million in client revenue.
Brian Doty, CMP: Vice President of Client Services
In addition to serving as SMS’ executive director, responsible for managing the firm’s business operations, Brian oversees all meeting and conference management functions for SMS clients.
Brian brings five years of national association management experience as an association director and project manager. Additionally, he is a 17-year veteran of the meetings industry with experience in catering, convention services and hotel operations, as well as corporate, association, and international meetings management.
Brian is a past president of the Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter of Meeting Professionals International and served the association at the international level on the International Chapter Leadership Committee. In 2004 and 2008, he was named the Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter Meeting Planner of the Year.
Jo Ann Rice, PharmD: Principal
Jo Ann provides oversight and guidance to the SMS leadership team and aligns management decisions and practices with the missions of SMS and its clients. Her combination of for-profit and non-profit leadership experience complements the SMS business model, resulting in customer driven services.
Jo Ann carries more than 18 years of administrative pharmacy experience, which includes serving as director of pharmacy, laboratory and health support services at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. She has served as a board member for various non-profit associations including the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists (KSHP) and local chapters of the Salvation Army and the United Way.
Tim Rice: Principal
Tim spearheads SMS’ customer-driven approach, and ensures that every client receives exceptional service. Two decades of pharmaceutical industry experience and an educational background in infectious diseases and toxicology, have given Tim a unique business perspective that drives success for SMS and its clients.
Tim’s past experience includes product management with Glaxo, and sales management with Genentech, Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, and Advanced Tissue Sciences. He has worked in several therapeutic areas, including gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, wound healing and cardiology. Tim has been the CEO of SMS’ affiliate, Symbiotix, since its 1998 inception.
Paul Scarnegie: Technical Director
As Technical Director for SMS, Paul is responsible for implementing the neccesary technological requirements of our clients creative and multimedia needs. With over 17 years experience within marketing and advertising industries, Paul works with our directors and coordinators to develop cutting edge online interactive experiences for our clients. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University.
